Cookie policy
Which cookies this site uses and what they are for
Last updated: August 2026
- What cookies are
- Cookies are small text files that a site saves in a visitor's browser to remember something from one page to the next. They can be needed to make the site work, or they can be used to follow people as they browse: these are two very different things, and they have to be treated differently.
- The cookies we use
- This site uses only one. It is called `lingua`, it holds the code of the language you chose (for example `it`), it lasts one year and it can be read only by our own domain. It brings you back to your language when you return, instead of sending you to the default one every time.
- Why we do not ask for consent
- Consent is required for cookies that are not necessary, in particular those used to measure or to profile. The language cookie, by contrast, is strictly necessary to provide the service you yourself requested by choosing a language, so it falls under the exception in the ePrivacy Directive and in § 25(2) of the German TDDDG. If we ever add measurement cookies, a consent request will appear first.
- What we do not use
- We use no analytics, advertising or profiling cookies. There are no social network buttons or widgets, no tracking pixel, and no page loads resources from third-party domains: when you open one, your browser talks only to our own server.
- How to delete or block it
- You can delete the language cookie or prevent it from being saved through your browser settings, which let you remove cookies already stored and block future ones. The site will keep working: without that cookie you will simply be offered the default language each time.
- Other data processing
- How we handle personal data beyond cookies is explained in the privacy policy.
